Johnny Pun

Hong Kong collaborative pianist Johnny Pun (潘雋禮) holds a Master of Performance in Piano with Distinction from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and graduated with First Class Honours from the Hong Kong Baptist University Bachelor of Music Studies Programme. He is a recipient of the Guildhall School Scholarship, Hong Kong British Council IELTS Prize, and the HKBU CIE Scholarship.

Since starting his path in piano accompaniment at age 10 as school choir pianist at PLK Camoes Tan Siu Lin Primary School, Johnny has partnered with an array of instrumentalists and vocalists. Notably, he has maintained a close partnership with Hong Kong harmonica players since 2018, contributing to numerous international prize-winning performances. At the Germany World Harmonica Festival 2025, he accompanied both Adult Group Solo Champions, Mr. Yip Tsz Chung and Ms. Amanda Leung. His streak of success continued across major Asian festivals, including top-three placements across categories at the 10th Taiwan Harmonica Music Festival and the 11th Seoul International Harmonica Festival (SIHF) in 2025. Most recently at the 12th SIHF in 2026, he accompanied the Champion and 3rd-place winner of the Chromatic Solo Adult Category, the Champion and 2nd-place winner of the Chromatic Solo Elementary Category, and the Champion of the Chromatic Solo Middle & High Category, who was also awarded the prestigious Grand Prize Seoul Mayor Award.

Johnny’s recent international performance engagements include a debut alongside marimba artist Ernestina Leung at the Chengdu City Concert Hall in January 2026, a three-city performance tour in Estonia with Matthew Yip for the Pärnu Harmonica Festival sponsored by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London in June 2026, as well as performances in South Korea in July and Belgium in August. Johnny’s passion for collaborative music has enabled him to perform in major cultural hubs worldwide, including London (Milton Court Concert Hall), Sicily (Palazzo Recupero-Cutore), Germany (Trossingen University of Music), South Korea (Seoul City Hall and Plaza, Seoul Sejong Centre, Seoul Yeongdeungpo Art Hall, Busan Cinema Centre), and major venues across Hong Kong.

Beyond the stage, Johnny actively fosters the local chamber music scene. He co-founded the International Association of Collaborative Musicians, organizing chamber series with musicians from the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and HK Sinfonietta. In 2025, the Association masterminded and organized the "Erik Satie 100th Anniversary Piano Marathon," breaking the Guinness World Record for the "Most musicians to play the same piano in relay." A permanent jury member for the Hong Kong Promotion of Performing Arts Festival and the Hong Kong Arts Competition, Johnny was featured as a guest speaker at the British Council’s 75th Anniversary Reception. A frequent presence on air, he has been a recurring guest on RTHK Radio 4’s Cantilena hosted by Ms. Nancy Loo to share his international festival triumphs and concert tours, and was featured on RTHK Radio 3’s Music Next Door with Dr. Cherry Tsang and Harry. His artistic endeavors have also been covered across RTHK TV, TVB, i-Cable News, TDM Macau, the South China Morning Post, and Sing Tao Headline.
