Mr. keith pun




Pun began his musical studies at his young age of seven. In the early years, he studied the piano with Olive Lam, a student of the excellent pianist and educationist Ling Hui. Then, he studied the piano under Raymond Young, the first Bosendorfer artist in Hong Kong, and learnt harpsichord under Betty Li when he was pursuing his Bachelor degree in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In that period, he also received coaching from famous pianist Prof. Gabriel Kwok (Head of Keyboard Studies, HKAPA), Prof. Eleanor Wong (Artist-in-Residence, HKAPA), Ann Schein Carlyss (Juilliard School of Music), Dr. Stephen Savage (RNCM), Dr. Tao Chang (APU), Eugene Skovorodnikov (UBC), Tamas Ungar, Dr. Shane Levesque, Ling Hui, Eva Lue. Pun is awarded entry scholarship and currently studying his master degree under the renowned pianist Prof. Colin Stone in RNCM.

As a frequent prize-winner, Pun won many prizes in the well-known piano competitions, such as The 3rd International Deutsche Irmler-Klavierwettbewerb with ‘Best Performance Award’, 1st prize and 2nd prize of the 56th, 57th, 58th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. Besides, the won the 3rd prize in the 13th Hong Kong Open Piano Competition. Recently, He won the 2nd prize in the HKGNA Music Competition 2016. As a solo performer, he also widely performed in Hong Kong, mainland China, UK, and Romania, such as HKAPA Recital hall and Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall, Guangzhou Opera House (Mainland China), St Ann’s Church in Manchester (UK), the RNCM concert Hall (UK) and Sebes Church (Romania). Recently, he was invited to perform at the vocal concert which was celebrations for TOSTI’s 100th Death and SATIE’s 150th Birth. As an experienced chamber music player, he has collaborated with HKAPA graduate performing as groups of piano duo, trio and quintet. Upon his graduation in May 2014, he gave a marvelous recital with unanimous level of ‘A’ grade and won the ‘Best Progress Prize’ as well as the ‘Parsons Scholarship’.  Besides, he obtained “Distinction” in his graduation recital of both MMus and PGdip in the RNCM.
