Mr. Ryan Ho

Ryan Ho holds a robust academic foundation in music, beginning with his early training at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Department (1994–2000), where he won the JA Violin Competition and the Frederick Phelps Award. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Southampton (2000-2003), followed by a Master of Music in Violin Performance (2003–2004) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Violin Performance (2004–2005) from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, studying under Professor Simon Fischer. His conducting expertise was honed through a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting (2007–2009) at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under Mark Gibson, complemented by a Conducting Fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival (2006), where he trained with David Zinman and Leonard Slatkin. He further solidified his pedagogical credentials with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (2021–2022) from the University of Sunderland.

Ho’s professional achievements highlight his virtuosity and leadership. As Concertmaster of the Gustav Mahler Orchestra (2018–present), he led a landmark performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the Hong Kong Cultural Center in 2022. With the Global Symphony Orchestra (2015–present), he toured Vienna and Graz (2018) and performed alongside Andrea Bocelli and Coco Lee at the 2016 Wynn Palace opening. His conducting accolades include guest roles with the Thai Youth Orchestra (2015–2019), directorship of the Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra (2014–2016), and a tenure as conductor at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music Affiliated Secondary School (2018–2019), where he curated repertoires and mentored emerging musicians.
