Urmila Menon is a visual artist who uses different
mediums and styles to express her creativity. Having
worked in the corporate world, she decided to follow
her passion in 2015 and delved into art. She has
exhibited her work in various solo and group shows.
Recently her work was selected to be displayed at
the Wall of Fame as a part of the disCONNECT exhibition
by HKWALLS and Schoeni Projects in London.
Her vibrant art is regularly featured in local media. It was
recently selected as the cover of Zanna Art Magazine,
UK (Issue 5), featured in Zanna Art Magazine (Issue 4,6)
and featured in The Urban Sketching Handbook,
‘Drawing with a Tablet’. She also uses her art to
contribute to different causes. Recently she contributed
her art to help the situation in Afghanistan, the Covid
situation in India which was featured in the South China
Morning Post and also to the Haw Par Mansion Fundraiser.
Her art always expresses the current phase of life she
is in, the surroundings that influence it, and her
experiences along the long and never-ending journey of a
self-taught artist. She wants to be a living example of
the fact that anyone with passion can create art, that
is for everyone and is everywhere. She wants to create,
collaborate, open minds and unite people with art.
